Have you ever seen food related icons and thought how it would be, if it were your local delicacy and culture represented instead. This is a small exploratory project which draws parallel to Western icons with South Indian substitutes.
I created color and flat versions for the same icons to check if the new icons are recognizable just by it forms.
I selected popular food related icons and carefully selected commonly known dishes from Indian cuisine which are most suitable replacements for it.
Why?
Because representation matters, everyone should have ways to embrace their culture in digital world and have imagery that they can relate to.
