Magazine cover + App concept design
Challenge prompt: Design masthead and the cover of a new magazine devoted solely to things that are associates with the idea of blue.
The design illustrate the occasion of "Karvachauth", an Indian festival held in the month of October. The festival is established around the importance of marital relationship. Originally a Hindu festival, it has now evolved into Indian equivalent of Valentine's day due to the influence of Indian film industry. I chose this festival as it fits the constraint of the challenge and has been rarely illustrated. Initial sketch was made into an illustration in Adobe illustrator.
Color palette used consist of predominantly blue tones.
Vector illustration was imported into Photoshop to add noise/grain details in individual layers. This was done to add extra depth and avoid banding of gradients while jpeg compression.
I also quickly created an app concept to show other use cases of the design.
