2020 Theme – Human Centered AI
In our theme this year, Human-Centered AI we seek to explore design systems that are both highly automated and allow a great degree of user control and will result in to expand human capabilities 1000-fold. If we can design AI which is “reliable, trusted, and safe” we can dramatically enhance human performance in the coming decade.
This year #azwud was conducted entirely remote for the first time since its inception. I collaborated with members from UXPA, UX in AZ, Neudesic and GoDaddy to create a identity design.
The basic idea for the main illustration is to show a man relaxing on a cloud (which also incorporates features of human brain). Since AI is a very abstract concept, cloud + brain was the closest symbology I was able to create, which represented the ubiquitous and dynamic nature of AI technology. The overall goal was to show Human & AI collaboration taking over the world, with focus on AI technology which are already available in market (Tangible products: IOT devices like Smart thermostat, Voice assistants and Automated driving & Software products like: Grammarly spell check, Business intelligence tools and Business automation)
Additionally, I created a themed slide deck with color palette and typography to go along with the illustrations. The choice of colors was to represent "Earth". All the shapes in the illustration had "rounded" edge for tangible AI products and "sharp" edges for software tech.
The event was successful with 133 online registrations.
